Once your shiny new website is up and running there are still likely to be times when you want to make a few changes. Perhaps you want to rewrite some of the text, swap around some of the photos, change prices or contact details, or add new products into your range.
The method for making changes to your website after it is complete depends on whether you choose to have the site built with a Content Management System (CMS). As part of the consultation process, we'll discuss the options, so you can be sure you're choosing the best solution for your needs.
A site without a CMS is known as a 'static' website (although that doesn't mean it can't be every bit as dynamic and exciting). It is quicker and cheaper to set up, and I (or any other web designer) can make future changes directly into the code.
We can arrange a regular plan for a certain number of maintenance sessions per year, or you can book me to make alterations on an ad hoc basis.
If you want to be able to make your own changes to your website without learning the complexities of programming languages like HTML and CSS, you'll need a CMS such as WordPress or Concrete5. These allow you to log into your site, and make changes using the straightforward controls, without ever seeing the computer code that makes everything work.
